Introduction
GitHub Campus Expert Ambassadors (CEAs) are students who are passionate about technology and helping others learn to code. They are selected by GitHub to lead and organize events and activities at their schools to promote the use of GitHub and to help students build their technical skills.
I was recently selected to be a GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador, and I’m excited to share my application experience with you.
The application process
The GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador application process is fairly straightforward. You first need to create a GitHub account and then complete an online application form. The application form asks you about your technical skills, your experience with GitHub, and your reasons for wanting to become a CEA.
You also need to submit a video resume. In your video resume, you should introduce yourself, talk about your passion for technology, and explain why you would be a good fit for the CEA program.
My application
When I was applying to be a CEA, I knew that I wanted to focus on my passion for teaching and my experience with GitHub. In my application, I talked about how I had taught coding workshops to students at my school and how I had used GitHub to collaborate on projects with other students.
I also talked about my goals for the CEA program. I said that I wanted to use my skills to help other students learn to code and to promote the use of GitHub in my school community.
The interview
After I submitted my application, I was invited to participate in a video interview. In my interview, I was asked more questions about my technical skills, my experience with GitHub, and my goals for the CEA program.
I also had the opportunity to ask questions about the CEA program and about GitHub’s mission.
The decision
A few weeks after my interview, I was notified that I had been selected to be a GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador. I was thrilled!
My experience as a GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador
So far, my experience as a GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador has been amazing. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and connect with other students who are passionate about technology. I’ve also had the opportunity to organize and lead events at my school to promote the use of GitHub and to help students build their technical skills.
I’m excited to continue my work as a CEA and to help even more students learn to code and use GitHub.
Conclusion
If you’re a student who is passionate about technology and helping others learn to code, I encourage you to apply to be a GitHub Campus Expert Ambassador. It’s a great opportunity to make a difference in your school community and to learn more about GitHub and the tech industry.
